ALPHA ETA ALPHA
Alpha Eta Alpha (AEA) is a Pre-Health Society open to all collegiate majors who want to pursue a career as a Health Professional. This includes Optometrists, Nurses, PA's, Doctors, Healthcare Administrators and more! Our organization is currently listed as one of the only organizations on campus endorsed by Special Olympics-Texas where we host events to provide an inclusive environment for SOTX athletes.
A collection of what we have done during COVID-19
In the midst of this pandemic, AEA was given the opportunity to work with BPSOS to help seniors in lower socioeconomic communities. We received $3,000 worth of funding to put towards items in order to assemble care packages and distribute them to these seniors.
On August 22nd, AEA had an opportunity to volunteer at the Mayor's Health Equity Response Task Force's Distribution Event. With the help of many doctors, nurses, and other organizations, more than a thousand packages were given out that day to the low-income families in the Houston area.
